SARA has many affectionate and playful dogs ready for adoption. Choose your new family member from our online collection or if you don't see your new best friend, we encourage you to visit the Sanctuary. Our director can find several dogs for you based on your lifestyle and interests, while you get the opportunity to meet the animals in person.

New dogs come to SARA on a regular basis. This page is always changing and will be updated biweekly.

Jose: He was found neglected and wandering the streets. Jose is a sweet, calm, docile dog. He is a gentle soul and his eyes will melt your heart. Mountain Dogs are wonderful companions and tend to be a lower energy breed but they still love their walks outside enjoying the smells and sites of nature. Jose is beautiful inside and out and needs a loving family to join.

Rex: When we rescued Rex, he was starving and in poor health. You would never guess this now. He is a beautiful, delightful, obedient, friendly big boy and absolutely great with people. Rex loves a belly rub and can be a bit silly. Rex is better with female dogs but want to make sure that a responsible dog owner can integrate him into the household if other dogs are present.

Ariat: She was abandoned on interstate I-10. Ariat is friendly and wandered up to a human looking for help. She is sweet, gentle, smart, thoughtful and very obedient. Ariat is a medium energy dog who would love to have an owner to teach her tricks and take her out for adventures.

Susan: Susan was found stray in an impoverished neighborhood and rescued by SARA Sanctuary. Since coming to SARA, she has blossomed. She is a super friendly, low maintenance sweetheart. Susan has short hair (read ... minimal shedding) and is an easy fit to your family.

Tex: He is one of the most beautiful black Labradors I’ve ever seen. His shiny black coat and deep chocolate eyes are full of life. Tex came to us after being badly injured by a car. We had to have one of his back legs amputated but man he hardly noticed. After a week, he was running around and flashing that Labrador smile. He is a big boy and full of energy.

Farlin: He is a Husky mix and prefers the company of dog ladies. Has some old injuries to his leg where he was possibly hit by a car. "Bred in Northeast Asia as a sled dog, the Siberian Husky is known for its amazing endurance and willingness to work. Its agreeable and outgoing temperament makes it a great all-around dog. Siberians are relatively easy keepers, but their thick coats require weekly brushing. New owners should be prepared to provide an outlet for exercise daily, whether through walks or an enclosed space in which to run."
