All the animals featured in this section are "permanent," meaning they are lifers at SARA, either because of special needs, health or temperament issues. With approximately 250 of our 700 animals as permanent residents, we are seeking sponsorship to help us defray the cost of care for these special creatures. While many in-city shelters may need to euthanize these animals from lack of time or space constraints, at SARA we have unlimited space and time, and seek to work with these animals rather than dispose of them. Take one look at their faces, read their stories and you'll soon agree - no-kill is the best method.
