VOLUNTEER: Rooster Coop Day

​ABOUT GEORGE & RINGO  
Because of you, we are able to help animals in dire need. These two fighting roosters were seized in a raid in Texas along with lots of other animals kept in deplorable conditions.

George and Ringo are now safe with us and will be transitioning to a new separate enclosure soon where they can have more room to roam. These 2 roosters will live at SARA for the rest of their lives.

SARA needs a few helping hands to construct some sturdy homes from wood, chicken wire & corrugated roofing materials. You don’t need to be a carpenter. You will be guided by our SARA handymen Ben & Spiro.

HAPPY ROOSTING PROJECT
Recently, we have taken in 2 former fighters Ringo & George from a raid in South Texas, plus Bruce the City rooster from San Antonio. We have a few other roosters who all need some room to roam & protection from predators, dogs & each other.

HELP WITH SUPPLIES
SARA needs donations for materials & supplies. If possible, a suggested donation of $25 is greatly appreciated. We’re thankful for any and all help and participation.

FAMILY ACTIVITY? ARE KIDS WELCOME?
Older children who do not need constant supervision can join in. You are responsible for monitoring your own kids & keeping them close & focused on task. Our small crew cannot supervise kids & lead the coop building activities.

WHAT CAN YOU BRING?

🐓Your worst clothes that can be torn or get dirty. Wear closed toed shoes.
🐓Fresh, clean clothes to change into afterwards & a towel for sweat or your car seats.
🐓Fruits & veggies for the animals. No potatoes, onions or citrus fruits.
🐓Your own animal-friendly snacks or lunch. Please honor the animals we are helping.
🐓Your phone or camera to document & share on the socials.
🐓SARA will provide cold water & a warm experience to remember.
