SARA is getting ready to open up again after 16 months. We need help getting the sanctuary ready for visitors, events, team meet-ups, new sponsors & more volunteer days! We are giving our Patreon folks first shot at our 15 spots. We will publish the invitation link Friday morning May 21. HOW TO SIGN UP We are using SIGNUP.COM to organize our volunteers, times, tasks and what to bring. We have 15 spots and all kinds of tasks. Thanks for coming out and working with us if you can or if you are close by. Not all the tasks will be glamorous or Instagram-worthy. But please bring your camera to share your experience and spread the love of SARA animals. But this will be a working day. We want to get as much done as possible. Kids will be welcome another time. LIST OF GLAMOROUS TASKS Barnyard feeding & clean up Help build fences Help build shelters Bathe dogs Mow Weed eat Trim trees Help feed cats Clean cattery/rabbit house Clean infirmary WHAT TO BRING 1. Your own lunch, snacks and drinks. We will provide water. Catering is not available or in our budget right now. To respect the animals at the sanctuary, we kindly ask you to pack vegan food without animal products. 2. Protective wear like hat, close-toed shoes, work gloves. Consider the heat. Sunscreen, hats, a towel. Think about your hands and feet. 3. Extra change of clothes and shoes. You may get wet, dirty, slobbered on, step in something. Bring a bag for your dirties after volunteering. 4. Treats, Toys or Supplies We will have cleaning supplies & equipment. If you feel the need to bring things, we have a standard list of items we always can use and appreciate, doesn’t have to be brand new: SARA Wishlist.jpg 5. Fruit & veggies for the animals The pigs, cows, horses appreciate vegetables or fruit. You’ll make a friend for life. Carrots, apples, kale, bananas, watermelon, corn or any produce for the animals except onions & citrus. For dogs and cats, dry food only. No cans please. 6. Smart phone or camera for lots of pictures to share. Think about where to keep your phone, charger, battery pack while working. We always need cute pics of animals. We adore sharing volunteer stories on social media.
